Stand Up Paddle Surfing, or "SUP", is the fastest growing water sport in the world in 2010. Originating from surfing areas on the oceans, stand up paddling has made its way to lakes and rivers across the United States and around the world. Texas has become the epicenter of the SUP movement. This occurred when a group of stand up paddlers embarked on a four-day journey from California to Texas with the mission of spreading the booming sport of stand up paddling from the ocean to lakes and rivers across the United States and ultimately the world. "The SUP ATX Stand Up Paddle Journey from Malibu to Austin" on FOXsports documented the transferring of the sport from coastal areas to the Central United States, starting in Texas.
